NEXT FAIR: JANUARY 2021
Now, more than ever, many families in our community are experiencing diaper need. This simple resource can be a great support to families with small children.
Several Saturdays throughout the year we host our Family Health Fair and Diaper Giveaway events. Our most recent event was in October, and we are planning for the next to be in January. We are so thankful for the many local health agencies who shared resources for us to distribute. The following organizations have partnered with us at past events:
Amani Family Services
Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana
Parkview Health Community Health
Matthew 25 Medical and Dental Clinic
St. Joseph Community Health Foundation
Tobacco Free Indiana
Lutheran Social Services of Indiana
A Hope Center
We are also thankful for the following partnerships and support for these events:
Nurses to test blood pressure and blood sugar
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Health Visions Midwest offering breastfeeding education
Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church staff available to offer prayer and a listening ear
At future events, we also plan to make kids' books, a coloring station, free diapers, and healthy snacks available to those who attend.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Become a diaper bank partner!
Donate a package of diapers in any size, or host a diaper drive at your church or workplace! Contact us for publicity information and to coordinate a day for drop off. If you would like to volunteer your time the week before the fair to set-up and re-pack diaper donations, contact us!
Your monetary donation to our work will also allow us to improve our storage facility to allow for more diaper storage. This means that we will be able to serve and support even more families!

OUR HEALING KITCHEN
We offer these free healthy cooking classes to the community at different points throughout the year.
Email us at if you would like to find out about our next round of classes! These classes, hosted with funding and materials from the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation and Parkview Health are a great way to start cooking more creatively and healthily this year.
THE HOMEWORK CLUB
Tuesdays from 3-5 pm
*When FWCS is in session
For students in grades 2-8
Whether it's math, reading, spelling, or Spanish, our volunteers are prepared to help students with a variety of homework. Specialized, one-on-one help is available. We also offer snacks and a brief Christ-centered devotion. When students finish their homework, we also play games or do fun group learning activities. Students are welcome to sign up and come, whether or not they need tutoring in a specific subject. Contact us to sign up your student or to ask any questions you may have! Our goal is to support the students who need it the most, so let us know what we can do to help your student do his or her very best.
A limited number of computers are available to students for homework purposes. We do ask that students and parents wear face masks when entering and interacting in our facility. If your students needs a mask, one will be provided.
COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY
Together we can make our neighborhood even more beautiful!
We love our community, and we hope you do too! We invite you to join us for our clean-up events. Something as simple as cleaning up litter, and doing it together, can encourage pride and care for our community. Gloves, supplies, water, and a light lunch will be provided. Won't you join us? Contact us to let us know you'll be here for a great morning of service.
