Health and Education Resources for Your Family
THE HOMEWORK CLUB
Tuesdays from 3:00-5:00pm
We understand that every student is unique and that means he or she needs and wants different kinds of support. Whether your student needs a little extra homework help, reading support, practice with writing or math, or just a fun and safe place to hang out on Tuesdays after school, they are welcome here! Every Tuesday that Fort Wayne Community Schools are in session, we will be open from 3:00-5:00pm for students in grades 2-8 to do homework, ask questions of our tutors, look up information for school projects, read, play games, and enjoy a snack. We also have a short Christ-centered devotion at the end of every homework club meeting.
Contact us to sign up your student or with questions about the volunteer application process!

Get H.E.A.L.thier this year with us!
Whether you have never cooked for yourself before, or cook all the time and want to work more fruits and veggies into the dishes you love, this fun, free class has something for you! From cashew chicken to strawberry-pecan salads, chicken tortilla soup to beef and broccoli stir-fry, the HEAL cooking guide that is yours to keep, is packed with delicious and creative ideas for eating healthily without sacrificing flavor!
We are excited to be able to offer "Our HEALing Kitchen" cooking classes for adults of all ages and abilities again. Funds supporting our health education programs are also generously supported by The Lutheran Foundation and the We Raise Foundation.
Special class incentives and prizes for attendance will be available to participants. Click here for more information about the HEAL program, HEAL farm markets, and all they ways it is serving the needs of Allen County families.
WOMEN'S HEALTH AND PREGNANCY RESOURCES
If you or a friend would benefit from any of the following:
Limited STI testing
Info about community resources
Watch our website for the spring dates that A Hope Center's medical mobile will again offer these resources FREE OF CHARGE right here at Shepherd's Hand. The medical mobile's caring staff provide a judgement-free and professional atmosphere where any woman is welcome to receive care.
The mobile is closed for the winter, but come spring, look for the big purple bus in our parking lot across Anthony Blvd. (right across the street from us), and let us know if you have any questions before then. Spread the word that A Hope Center is bringing their services to our community!
Until then, you can find the same services at their 2 Fort Wayne locations at this link.
