JOIN US IN WELCOMING OUR NEW DIRECTOR
Deaconess Kimberly Trombley will begin her service as our new Executive Director in June!
The Shepherd's Hand Board of Directors is excited to announce that Deaconess Kim Trombley will be called to serve as the new Executive Director beginning in June!
Deaconess Trombley comes to us with more than nine years of non-profit leadership experience, and a passion for the south side of Fort Wayne. She has been involved with The Shepherd’s Hand as a volunteer for the last year and is looking forward to walking alongside individuals and families as they grow in health and wellness in soul, body, and mind by the grace of God, our Good Shepherd. Her husband, Rev. Michael Trombley, is pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church on the south east side of Fort Wayne, and they have five children.
Welcome, Deaconess Kim!
The Board of Directors wants to thank the founding Executive Director, Deaconess Rachel Jaseph for her service since 2017. Under her leadership, The Shepherd’s Hand was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and became a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod. She will be moving after her husband Phil graduates from Concordia Theological Seminary and upon the acceptance of his first pastoral call at the end of May. We wish them both the very best as they begin this new chapter!
Please join us in thanking God for the service of these two faithful women, and for the many ways that the Good Shepherd has and will continue to use their gifts to love and serve individuals, families, and communities in Christ’s name.
DEACONESS KIMBERLY TROMBLEY
Future Executive Director

At The Shepherd's Hand Community Outreach Center we are serving families in our community by establishing programs designed to meet the spiritual, educational, and health needs of our neighbors. Motivated by the love of Christ, our staff and volunteers believe in taking action in order to combat some of the most pressing issues facing our community today related to health, education and life wellness. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
WHO WE ARE
The Shepherd's Hand Community Outreach Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving families and individuals in the southeast-side of Fort Wayne, and providing meaningful health and education resources to support them. Our work began as a community outreach of Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church, and now is proud to have the support and partnership of numerous other local Christian churches and community service organizations. Through this ministry effort, our staff and volunteers seek to creatively equip and meet the needs of the neighborhood through education, health and life wellness programs. We desire to support those who come to us by providing valuable life skills training, connecting people to resources in the city, and encouraging neighbors to serve one another. Through acts of mercy we continue growing into an outreach center where neighbors can both serve and be served as we work together to create a healthier community. The love of Christ motivates this effort, and as a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, our aim is to point all who we serve to Jesus and His Church where we hear the Gospel and receive our Good Shepherd's gifts of grace. Stop by and see us! You are welcome here.
WHAT IS OUR FOCUS?
Making a difference in our community in the name of Christ through...
The Shepherd's Hand is dedicated to offering educational opportunities to strengthen the basic life skills of adults and children of all abilities in our community. Healthy cooking classes for various ages and after-school homework assistance for children are some of the ways we address the educational needs.
Information about our current educational programs may be found under the "Programs and Services" tab above.
At The Shepherd's Hand, we recognize that one's health impacts all areas of life. For this reason, we encourage healthy habits and support families as they strive to care for the bodies given to them by God. We do this by teaching healthy cooking classes, hosting our Family Health Resource Fairs, distributing diapers at these fairs through Diaper Bank partnerships, connecting people to health-related resources and educational opportunities, and hosting community meals for special holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter.
The Shepherd's Hand desires to care for the tangible needs of our community while pointing those we serve to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. We invite everyone who enjoys our programs to join us for worship at Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church, where we hear God's Word, receive His gifts, and fellowship with other believers in Christ. Learn more about what we believe by checking out the Shepherd of the City website: . If you are searching for a church home, please reach out to us and we will be happy to help you connect to Shepherd of the City or another local church.
"...and no one will snatch them out of my Father's hand." John 10:29
